Conservative Tax Fighter Jim Lacy Endorses Wagner

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Irvine, California – Jim Lacy, a board member of the American Conservative Union, former director of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, and chairman of the Western Conservative Political Action Conference has endorsed conservative Don Wagner for the 70th Assembly District.  Wagner has demonstrated the strongest pro-taxpayer and fiscally sound record of all the candidates seeking the GOP nomination to succeed Chuck DeVore who is running for U.S. Senate against Barbara Boxer.

"I have spent my career advancing the conservative cause and always appreciate seeing others involved in the conservative movement step forward to positively affect the direction of our state," said Lacy.  "Don Wagner has been a leader in Orange County on issues important to our state and our nation and I am proud to endorse his candidacy.  He will be a strong conservative voice in Sacramento."

"Jim Lacy is one of the most influential conservatives in the state. He knows the importance of electing legislators with a consistent record of fighting to protect the taxpayer. I am grateful for Jim's support," said Wagner.  "It is time that our state government focuses on the basic services that taxpayers expect from it and away from ever-growing entitlements for special interests and public employee unions.  The government does not exist to pad the pockets of those who pull the levers of power; it exists to serve the people."

Don Wagner and his wife, Megan, and their three children live in Irvine. He is a graduate of UCLA and the University of California, Hastings College of Law. Don has been elected to three consecutive terms on the Board of Trustees of the South Orange County Community College District, and currently serves as the Board's president. Don was a founder of the Orange County chapter of the Federalist Society, a nationwide organization of 40,000 conservative lawyers, law students, and scholars dedicated to preserving the rule of law from activist courts.
